What is it....you're never supposed to discuss religion, sex, or politics?   I've breeched all three of those guidelines.   I believe all three can be discussed...as long as it's with an appropriate audience, at an appropriate time, and handled appropriately.  What does all that mean?  Well, only dicuss those topics when the time is right, in a non-judgemental, non-argumentative way, with people you feel comfortable doing so with.

Out of the three, politics makes me the most uncomfortable.  Although I am spiritual with clearly defined personal beliefs, I am tolerant of others' religions and beliefs.   I also accept many opinions about sex, as it's a generally a good thing (when practiced responsibly and at the right time of course.)

But politics...there's so much room for disagreement.  Basically, I have come to distrust the entire poltical system of the United States.  Because of the uncomfortable feeling I get when I think about politics, it doesn't really interest me to investigate other political systems.  However, my general opinion is that we, as people, are seriously flawed, so consequently any political system we create will be as well.  It just seems like both parties are growing increasingly corrupt and only serve special interests.  Once we elect one of two people who actually belong to parties that are close on the larger political spectrum, it seems like we lose all say in the government.  Those who are vunerable fall victim to poverty and other ills, and those who are strong are protected by loopholes and their rich friends.   I know that's a very cynical way to look at things, but that's just the way I feel.
